The Fire Giant (SURTR)
SURTR is one of the oldest, most powerful and most ominous figures in Norse mythology. He is the ruler of the realm of fire, Muspellsheim, and embodies the destructive, all-consuming primal force of fire.
SURTR is older than most of the Gods. He existed long before the creation of Midgard and Asgard.
SURTR wields a gigantic flaming sword that burns brighter than the sun. This sword is the personification of destructive power – it is destined to reduce the world order to dust and ashes.
With it, SURTR destroys not only the Gods and humanity, but also himself and his own legions. The fire purifies the cosmos of all that is old, of chaos and of sins, so that in the end a new, green and peaceful world may rise from the ocean.
