The Midgard Serpent (JÖRMUNGANDR)
The Midgard Serpent is one of the monstrous children of the Trickster God Loki.
JÖRMUNGANDR is so gigantic that the creature encircles the entire Earth and holds her own tail in her mouth. As long as she lies still in the ocean, the world remains in balance.
Yet she is a ticking time bomb. The Vikings knew that a single twitch of the serpent could trigger massive earthquakes and storm surges across the Earth.
The Midgard Serpent has a deep-seated, personal feud with Thor, the God of Thunder.
When the final battle begins, the serpent lets go of her tail, writhes onto land and causes the sea to overflow. She spews poison and bile across the heavens and the earth and fights alongside the Giants and her Father, Loki.
